Microbial Growth in a Vertical Return Duct in Chesapeake, VA

This return duct insulation in a commercial building was full of mold.  The tenants were complaining of a "musty" smell throughout the building.

We removed the moldy, porous fiber insulation and replaced it with Armacell Microban® Antimocrobial Product Protection.

Armacell is a closed cell foam that has no pores.  This closed cell foam insulation is also a sound silencer.  This insulation helps to reduce the noise that emits from a large handler.

The results of this procedure and insulation replacement are a healthy, cleaner indoor air quality.  The process took two weeks to complete due to the 30 foot drop that was 8 feet x 8 feet and every 10 feet, space continued to be reduced.  A claustrophobic nightmare!

The owner of the building was extremely happy and pleased with our work and results.
